ACDS convened and facilitated a stakeholder meeting for Severn area community development providers and leaders on August 15th at Kingdom Celebration Center in Odenton. In addition to learning about Anne Arundel County’s 5-year Consolidated Plan process for 2021 – 2026 and our FY 2021 Budget process, participants provided critical feedback on the housing and community development needs they are seeing among their clients and community members. Over 30 individuals representing nonprofits, community leaders and government officials were in attendance. The discussions of needs and strategies to address those needs focused around four major priorities/Goals: Revitalize and Beautify Communities; Develop Strong and Healthy Families/Households; Access Affordable and Stable Housing; and Empower People to be Economically Self-Sufficient.

Input from the Severn meeting will guide the investment of federal, State and local housing and community development funds, as well a Video Lottery Terminal funds recommended through the Local Development Council.
