NOTICE: HUD Fraud Reporting Letter
ACDS administers several programs on behalf of Anne Arundel County that are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In an effort to provide the recipients of HUD-assisted programs with the best services and funding possible, The Office of Inspector General (OIG) requests that reports of crime, fraud, financial waste and abuse are reported immediately. Fraud negatively impacts communities and individuals who rely on HUD for housing solutions. Together, we have a shared responsibility to report fraudulent activity. For more information and resources, please visit the HUD website here.
Each year, federal funding is available, either through loans or, in rare cases, grants, to support capital projects (typically predevelopment, construction and rehabilitation of facilities) serving low and moderate income communities in Anne Arundel County. Past projects have included construction of a day and vocational facility for individuals with developmental disabilities, rehabilitation of a historic Rosenwald school to house Head Start and other community services, and the adaptive re-use of a historic school building into a regional Boys & Girls Club facility.
Projects must meet federal funding guidelines. Information about federal Capital Grants can be found in the application guidelines. The guidelines can be found here:
