ACDS has been awarded $544,274 from the State of Maryland’s Homelessness Solutions Program (HSP) on behalf of the Anne Arundel County Continuum of Care. ACDS will provide funding to the following service providers:
Arundel House of Hope – $18,200 – Funding will be used to administer the Hope Respite and Day Center located at Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis, which will provide a day shelter and supportive services to unsheltered homeless persons.
Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services – $3,600 – Funding will be used to coordinate a one-day event called Homeless Resource Day in the spring of 2020. The event will assist homeless families and individuals to gain access to medical care, identification services, legal support, housing, employment, benefits, domestic violence counseling, haircuts, and connection to case management services.
Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency – $57,900 – Funding will be used to administer the Empowerment Program which will provide homelessness prevention services for families and individuals at-risk of homelessness.
Sarah’s House – $185,560 – Funding will be used to administer emergency shelter and supportive services to homeless families and individuals.
Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families – $96,774 – The Housing In Place, Home Our Priority (HIPHOP) program will provide unaccompanied homeless youth aged 18-24 with rental assistance and supportive services using the Housing First model.
Lighthouse, Inc. – $146,600 – Funding will be used to operate the Safe Harbour Resource Center (SHRC), which provides day shelter and supportive services to homeless individuals and families. SHRC will also provide homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing services for homeless families and individuals at-risk of homelessness.
