On Wednesday, August 30, 2017 an open house was held in the Brookwood community of Brooklyn Park to enable local residents to preview a rowhome that was recently renovated and modernized by ACDS. The open house provided nearby homeowners with ideas and low cost financing options for renovating their homes through the ACDS Property Rehabilitation and Accessibility Modification Programs. In addition, prospective tenants saw an example of the quality housing that is currently available for rent through ACDS. Over 40 visitors toured the recently renovated ACDS home, enjoying light refreshments, getting to know their neighbors and relaxing on the porch. Applications were received from homeowners interested in renovating their nearby homes and from households expressing an interest in renting a newly renovated ACDS home. During the open house, local residents expressed their enthusiasm for the 75 nearby homes ACDS has renovated and for the positive difference ACDS has made in their neighborhood.
