To support Anne Arundel County’s goal to reduce its energy usage by 15 percent, ACDS recently served as the project manager to retrofit the parking lot and pedestrian lighting into energy efficient light sources at the County’s Heritage Office Complex on Riva Road, in Annapolis.
Utilizing County Energy Fund and Maryland Energy Administration Smart Energy Communities Program dollars, ACDS’ experienced construction staff procured and managed consultants and a lighting contractor to design and complete the work.
The older, inefficient high intensity discharge (HID) parking lot pole fixtures were retrofitted with new LED fixtures and modern solid state controls. In addition, outdated pedestrian globe light fixtures were retrofitted with new poles and LED fixtures. Through this effort the County will reduce its energy consumption at this location by 30 percent, while modernizing the complex’s aesthetic and increasing functionality for employees and visitors!
